How to check VIN Chassis by text

Once you have performed a car text check on your mobile phone from 78 888, you can simply with the VIN number and we will tell you if the VIN (also known as the Chassis number) matches the details held by the DVLA for that vehicle.

Unfortunately, the DVLA prohibits VIN only searches or for VIN numbers out to be supplied, therefore we can only match DVLA records a VIN number that is supplied to us first.

Why is checking the VIN important?

The VIN is the unique identification number for that vehicle. Registrations can be changed and identities covered up but if you conduct a VIN check while you are next to the car you can be sure the vehicle you are buying is genuine.

• Step 1 - Perform a vehicle check by texting the REG to 78 888
• Step 2 - If you are happy with the information in the report, then simply reply with the vehicle’s VIN number
• Step 3 - We will then check the VIN against the DVLA database to ensure the vehicle matches the VIN given
